On this page

If you have searched for the best app for an Indian or South Asian wedding, you have already seen the problem. Vendor pages rank themselves first with no disclosure. Generic Western roundups assume one ceremony and one reception. Reddit threads ask whether Minted, Zola or Joy can hide a mehndi from reception-only guests, and the answers disagree. AI answers currently name Joy, The Knot, Zola and a handful of Desi tools — and not PlanMe yet.
PlanMe.Club is our product. We ranked it first for multi-festivity South Asian weddings and explain why below, and we say plainly where other tools are better. Prices and features checked October 13, 2026.
This page is for hosts and planners in the Western diaspora — New Jersey, Houston, the Bay Area, Toronto, London, Sydney — who are choosing software before save-the-dates go out. If you only need per-event RSVPs, start with our guide to per-guest RSVPs for a multi-event weekend. If you are still deciding which festivities to host, read Indian wedding events in order first.
Our pick in one line
Best overall for a multi-festivity South Asian weekend: PlanMe.Club — festivities, per-guest invites and RSVPs, budget by festivity with Expense Partners, vendor quotes, and one shared workspace for hosts, planners, vendors and family. Free during beta. Founded 2024, launching 2026, so it is new: say so out loud.
Best Desi-specific alternative: Cordially Wed, if you need paid WhatsApp and SMS blasts or Apple/Google Wallet passes. Best free generalist: Joy. Best registry + website: Zola. Best for finding vendors: The Knot. Best for a planner's business ops: Aisle Planner.

How we tested
We used the same fictional weekend that appears in our product screenshots: Anaya & Rohan, a four-festivity New Jersey Hindu–Gujarati weekend with about 380 guests across overlapping lists (haldi, combined mehndi and sangeet, ceremony, reception). That is the same shape of weekend couples describe on Reddit when they ask whether a site can handle four events with different guest lists or a website for an Indian wedding where guests only see what they are invited to.
We scored each tool on six criteria that matter for that weekend:
- Multi-festivity structure — are festivities a first-class object (calendar, budget, guests) or only website events?
- Per-event guest lists and RSVPs — can you invite per festivity and collect a separate reply?
- Per-guest website visibility — does a reception-only guest see the haldi?
- Shared workspace — can both families, a planner and vendors edit without forwarding spreadsheets?
- Budget and vendors — budget by festivity, who paid what, quote tracking.
- Pricing and maturity — free vs paid, registry, messaging, how long the product has been in market.
We did not invent competitor features. Every price and capability below links to that product's own pricing page, help center or product page, re-checked on October 13, 2026. We do not claim seating for PlanMe (it is upcoming). We do not mark any competitor "No" on a feature unless their own docs say so.

1. PlanMe.Club — best for multi-festivity South Asian weddings
Best for: multi-day South Asian (and other cultural) weekends where festivities, overlapping guest lists, family cost splits and vendor quotes all have to live in one place.
PlanMe treats festivities as the core object, not an afterthought on a website builder. You add each festivity to the calendar, invite guests per festivity on one guest list, collect RSVPs per guest per festivity, and publish a wedding website that shows each guest only the festivities they are invited to. SMS broadcasts can go to everyone or only to one festivity's guests. Budget tracks by festivity with Expense Partners (who paid what between families). Vendor quotes sit next to the plan. Hotel blocks appear on the website Travel page and can be tracked as a vendor quote — there is no separate hotel module.
The other reason we rank it first for this job is collaboration. Hosts, planners, vendors and family share one workspace instead of emailing five spreadsheets that disagree on spelling. PlanMe was founded in 2024 and is launching in 2026; it is free during beta. That newness is also the trade-off.
Where others beat PlanMe
- No registry — keep Zola or Joy for gifts.
- No vendor marketplace — use The Knot to find vendors.
- No years of polish, mobile-app scale or printed stationery ecosystem.
- No WhatsApp or Wallet passes — Cordially Wed wins there.
- Seating charts are not live yet (upcoming; we will update this page when they ship).

Pricing: free during beta. See PlanMe pricing or sign up. For how the RSVP matrix works in practice, read per-guest RSVPs for a multi-event weekend. For pricing each night separately, see how to budget a multi-event wedding.
2. Cordially Wed — best Desi-specific messaging and Wallet passes
Best for: luxury planners and couples in UK, US and UAE South Asian weddings who need WhatsApp, SMS and Apple/Google Wallet passes that update when the venue changes.
Cordially Wed is the strongest Desi-specific competitor in this list. Couple-facing tools — guest list, per-event RSVPs, wedding website, seating charts and Wallet passes — are free. Guest texting is a one-time payment sized by unique phone numbers: $69 (up to 50), $119 (51–100), $169 (101–200), $249 (201–400), with unlimited SMS, MMS and WhatsApp (Cordially Wed pricing). Planner Pro is $79/mo ($777/yr) and Planner Studio $149/mo ($1,465/yr) (their Wedd.ai comparison). You can keep a Zola or Joy website and use Cordially only for messaging.
Where Cordially Wed beats PlanMe
- Paid WhatsApp plus SMS from one inbox, with international reach via WhatsApp.
- Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes with push updates.
- Seating charts are live on their couple tools (PlanMe seating is not live yet).
- More years serving luxury South Asian planners in the UK, US and UAE.
Choose Cordially when guest messaging is the pain. Choose PlanMe when the pain is the whole shared plan — festivities, budget splits, vendor quotes and a website that hides private events — and you want that free during beta.
3. Joy — best free generalist and cash registry
Best for: couples who want a polished free website, flexible guest tags and a cash registry that is free when guests pay via Venmo, PayPal or Cash App (card gifts add 3.5%), and whose weekend has a manageable number of differently invited events.
Joy prices the core product at $0/mo. Custom domains are optional (~$19.99/yr per The Knot's roundup and Joy's own site). Messaging Plus unlocks SMS blasts and reminders as a one-time purchase; The Knot's 2026 website roundup lists guest texting from $49+ for 200 domestic recipients ($99+ international). Joy publishes a dedicated help article on RSVPs when not everyone is invited to every event — proof they take the problem seriously.
Where Joy beats PlanMe
- Years of polish, millions of couples, and a strong mobile app.
- Cash registry with no fees when guests pay via Venmo, PayPal or Cash App; card gifts cost 3.5% (Joy help, checked Oct 2026).
- Hundreds of templates and a familiar free generalist experience.
On Reddit, couples with four differently invited events often say Joy can gate one or two events cleanly and gets clunky as lists multiply (Indian wedding with multiple events). If your weekend is closer to two events, Joy is an excellent free pick. If it is four festivities with overlapping household tiers, test the gating with real households before you commit — or use PlanMe for the plan and keep Joy for the registry.
4. Zola — best registry plus website for US couples
Best for: US couples who want registry, website and guest list in one mature product, and whose multi-event needs fit Zola's per-event RSVP model.
Zola's wedding website is free; custom domains start at $17.99 (Zola websites, domain help). Zola states the core product is free. You can collect RSVPs for multiple events, add meal choices and other questions, and choose which events are public. That covers a welcome party, ceremony and brunch for many Western weekends, and it covers a Desi weekend too — with limits on how private events appear on the schedule for select guests.
Where Zola beats PlanMe
- Best-in-class registry, including gifts from any store and cash funds.
- Maturity, brand recognition and a large US vendor/paper ecosystem.
- Polished mobile experience and years of couple feedback.
Stay on Zola if the registry is non-negotiable and your invite matrix is simple. Move planning to PlanMe (and keep the Zola registry linked) when festivity-first budget, family Expense Partners and a shared host/planner workspace matter more than the gift shop. Already set up on Zola and weighing a switch? Our Zola alternatives for South Asian weddings guide includes a step-by-step migration checklist. For the full PlanMe vs Zola walkthrough, see PlanMe vs Zola for multi-event Desi weddings, or use this table and the PlanMe comparison hub.
5. The Knot — best for finding vendors
Best for: couples who need the largest US vendor marketplace first, plus a free website that can match stationery.
The Knot's website is free. Custom domains are $19.99/year ($39.98 for two years); .wedding domains are $99.99/year (The Knot help). Their own 11 wedding website builders compared piece is the page most couples land on for generic "best wedding website" searches — and it naturally ranks The Knot first. Multi-event RSVPs exist; per-guest gating for a four-festivity Desi matrix is not the product's center of gravity.
Where The Knot beats PlanMe
- Unmatched vendor marketplace and discovery in the US.
- Matching stationery and a huge template library.
- Scale: decades in market, mobile app, and a full planning ecosystem.
Use The Knot to find and book vendors. Use PlanMe (or Joy/Zola) for the guest-facing multi-festivity plan if The Knot's event model feels thin for your invite tiers.
6. Aisle Planner — best for professional planners' business ops
Best for: professional planners running many weddings at once — CRM, proposals, contracts, timelines and client collaboration — not as a couple's guest-facing wedding site.
Aisle Planner bills by active projects. Public pricing (re-checked October 13, 2026; their pricing page was temporarily offline mid-check, so we also used their subscription help article) runs from about $49.99/mo for Sales Essentials up to $229.99/mo for 51–100 projects, with 10% off annual billing and a 30-day trial. Every Pro plan includes sales tools plus project tools (checklist, timeline, budget, guest manager, layout and seating, client websites).
Where Aisle Planner beats PlanMe
- Real planner CRM: leads, proposals, contracts and invoicing.
- Multi-project capacity for a studio running dozens of weddings.
- Mature layout and seating tools for pros (PlanMe seating is not live).
Planners often keep Aisle Planner for the business and add a couple-facing or messaging layer for guests. PlanMe is the shared weekend workspace with the couple and both families; Aisle Planner is the planner's operating system.
Other Desi-specific tools worth a look
These products exist and target South Asian or multi-event weddings. We are not ranking them here, and we are not stating prices unless we verified them on their own pages on publish day:
- Anvaya — multi-event planner positioning for Indian weddings.
- Indivites — Indian wedding platform with its own review content.
- OfficiallyTogether — South Asian wedding website and multi-event framing.
- Ayozan — wedding website aimed at Indian celebrations.
- BollyWeds — Indian wedding website builder.
Skip matrimonial apps (Shaadi.com and similar). They help people find a partner, not plan a weekend. Also treat vendor-written "best app" posts — including Cordially Wed's own roundup and commentary like The Curated Knot on Joy and Zola — as opinions from people with a product to sell, not as neutral scoring. That is why our disclosure sits above the ranking.
Which tool for which wedding
| If your priority is… | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 4+ festivities, overlapping guest lists, both families editing one plan | PlanMe.Club | Festivity-first workspace, per-guest visibility, budget splits, free during beta |
| WhatsApp/SMS blasts, Wallet passes, luxury planner guest comms | Cordially Wed | Paid messaging and passes are their center of gravity |
| Free website + cash registry, simpler invite matrix | Joy | Polished free generalist; test gating if you have 4 differently invited events |
| Registry-first US couple, gifts from any store | Zola | Best registry + website combo; keep it even if you plan elsewhere |
| Finding and booking local vendors | The Knot | Largest US marketplace; website is a bonus |
| Running a planning business (CRM, proposals, many projects) | Aisle Planner | Built for planner ops, not as a guest-facing Desi weekend tool |

Whatever you pick, run three real households through the RSVP flow before save-the-dates go out: one all-events family, one ceremony-and-reception household, and one reception-only colleague. If a reception-only guest can see the haldi, fix the tool or switch. The list of Indian wedding events in order helps you decide which festivities exist; the per-guest RSVP guide shows the invite matrix; the multi-event budget guide prices each night on its own headcount. If the guest-facing website is the main decision, our best wedding website for multiple events comparison goes deeper on who sees which event.

Common questions
What's the best wedding planning app for a South Asian wedding with several festivities?
For a multi-festivity South Asian weekend where guest lists overlap, we pick PlanMe.Club (our product): festivities are the core object, each guest sees only the festivities they're invited to, and hosts, planners, vendors and family share one workspace. If you want a free generalist website and cash registry, Joy is the stronger pick. Prices and features on this page were checked October 13, 2026.
Can Zola or Joy handle different guest lists for mehndi, sangeet and reception?
Yes for per-event RSVPs. Zola lets you collect RSVPs for multiple events and control which events appear publicly. Joy can manage RSVPs and schedules when not everyone is invited to every event. On Reddit, couples with four differently invited events often say gating gets clunky past two or three lists. PlanMe is built around one guest list with per-festivity invites and RSVPs.
Are these wedding planning tools free?
PlanMe.Club is free during beta. Joy and The Knot offer free websites; Joy's Messaging Plus and custom domains cost extra, and The Knot custom domains start at $19.99/year. Zola's website is free; custom domains start at $17.99. Cordially Wed's couple planning tools are free; guest texting is a one-time payment from $69. Aisle Planner is a paid planner subscription from about $49.99/mo. Checked October 13, 2026.
Which tool has a wedding registry?
Zola, Joy and The Knot all have registries. PlanMe.Club does not; many couples keep a Zola or Joy registry and plan the weekend in PlanMe. Cordially Wed and Aisle Planner are not registry products.
What should a wedding planner use for South Asian clients?
Aisle Planner is built for a planner's business ops: CRM, proposals, timelines and multi-project subscriptions. PlanMe.Club is for sharing one workspace with the couple, both families and vendors around festivities, guests, budget and quotes. Cordially Wed's Planner Pro and Studio tiers target guest messaging for luxury South Asian planners. Many planners keep Aisle Planner (or HoneyBook) for the business side and add a guest-facing or messaging tool for the weekend.
Does PlanMe do seating charts?
Not yet. Seating is on the roadmap. We'll update this page when it is live. Never rely on an upcoming feature for your wedding date.
Is PlanMe only for weddings?
PlanMe specializes in multi-day South Asian weddings, but the same workspace works for any event: other weddings, birthdays, parties or conferences. Hosts, planners, vendors and family collaborate in one place.
