PlanMe is our product, so we've linked every claim about The Knot to its own help center and marked anything it doesn't document as "Not documented" rather than guessing.
The short version: The Knot wins on finding vendors. PlanMe wins on planning several festivities with family.
The short answer
Pick The Knot if you're still finding and booking vendors and want the biggest marketplace, reviews, a registry and room-block booking alongside a free website. Pick PlanMe if the hard part is planning several festivities: an RSVP, seating chart, menu and budget for each one, vendor quotes, and family and your planner each with their own login. Use both to find vendors on The Knot and plan in PlanMe.

Where PlanMe is better
Guests only see their own festivities
PlanMe's RSVP shows each household only the festivities they're invited to. On The Knot, select-guest events are hidden from the site and appear only in the RSVP form.A budget tracker, not just estimates
PlanMe tracks budget, contracted, paid and due amounts by category and festivity, with payment status and cost-sharing partners. The Knot's Budget Advisor estimates costs.Vendor quotes with status
Record every quote with its amount and notes and move it from pending to approved. The Knot lists your booked vendors but doesn't document quote tracking.Separate logins with roles
Invite family and your planner by email, each with a role you define. The Knot describes a shared login, with multi-user access in the works.A seating chart per festivity
Every festivity gets its own floor plan with PDF and CSV exports. We didn't find seating documented in The Knot's help center.
Can you use both?
Yes. Find, review and book vendors on The Knot, keep its registry if you've already started one there, and plan in PlanMe: festivities, guests and RSVPs, seating, hotels, budget and vendor quotes. PlanMe also has a gift registry for your guests. Bring your guest list into PlanMe from a CSV or Excel file.

Common questions
Is The Knot good for Indian weddings with several events?
The Knot lets you add several events, mark which guests are invited to each, and collect RSVPs per event. Events open to select guests are hidden from the site and appear only in the RSVP form. If you also need budgets, seating and vendor quotes per festivity, PlanMe keeps those together.
Can The Knot hide some events from some guests?
Partly. An event set to select guests is hidden from your website and only appears in the RSVP form for the guests invited to it.
Does The Knot have a budget tracker?
The Knot's Budget Advisor estimates costs; its help center says it replaced the older Budgeter tool. PlanMe tracks contracted, paid and due amounts by category and festivity.
Can my partner and I both log in to The Knot?
The Knot's help center describes a shared login and says multi-user access is in the works. PlanMe lets you invite family and your planner by email, each with their own login and a role you choose.
Can I use The Knot and PlanMe together?
Yes. Use The Knot to find and review vendors (and keep its registry if you've already started one there), and PlanMe to plan the festivities, guests, seating, budget and vendor quotes.
