Guests

Text and email your wedding guests from one guest list

PlanMe lets you send an email or SMS broadcast to the guests you choose, straight from your guest list. Pick everyone, a tag such as Bride side, or guests by RSVP status, like those invited who haven't replied. Send to head guests only for one message per household, save drafts and schedule texts for later.

Free during beta. No credit card needed.

How it works

Email and text your guests from the guest list

  1. 1

    Choose email or SMS

Pick the channel. For email, choose one of three designs: elegant serif, clean sans-serif or soft pastels.

  2. 2

    Pick who gets it

Filter your guest list by tag or RSVP status, search by name, or send to head guests only.

  3. 3

    Write the message

Start from a ready message for announcements, confirmations or reminders, or write your own.

  4. 4

    Send or schedule

Send now, save a draft, or schedule an SMS for later. A scheduled SMS can be canceled before it goes.

What you get

What's included

  • Email and SMS

Both channels from one composer, using the emails and phone numbers already in your guest list.

  • By tag

Message the Groom side, the dance crew or out-of-town guests, using the tags you already use.

  • By RSVP status

Reach guests who accepted, declined, or were invited and haven't replied.

  • Head guests only

Send one message per household instead of one per person.

  • Scheduled SMS

Write a reminder now and schedule the text for the right moment.

  • History and drafts

See what went out, filtered by channel, status and date, and pick up saved drafts.

In detail

Messages that go to the right people

A wedding with several events means more messages, and not all of them are for everyone. Messaging works from the same guest list as your RSVPs, so you never copy numbers into another app. In the app this is the Broadcasts tab.

Choosing recipients

Recipients come from your guest list. Narrow it with tags (Bride side, Groom side, VIP or any tag you created) and with RSVP status: accepted, declined, invited without a reply yet, or not invited. Search by name or email to add or remove individual guests, and switch on head guests only when one message per family is plenty.

You can also type in an email address or phone number by hand, for a vendor or a relative who isn't on the list.

Writing and sending

Start from a ready message for an announcement, a confirmation or a reminder, then make it sound like you. Emails go out in one of three designs. Texts are plain and short, which is what people read on the morning of a mehndi.

Send right away, keep it as a draft, or schedule an SMS for a set date and time. A scheduled text can be canceled until it goes. Every message you have sent stays in a history you can filter by channel, status and date.

What it is not

PlanMe sends email and SMS. It does not send WhatsApp messages. For RSVP invitations themselves, each household gets its own private RSVP link by email or text; see RSVP for multiple events.

Can I text only the guests who haven't RSVP'd?

Yes. Filter recipients by RSVP status and choose guests who were invited but haven't replied, then send them an SMS or email.

Can I message one side of the family?

Yes. Tag guests by side or circle, such as Bride side or Groom side, and send a broadcast to just that tag.

Can I schedule a text for later?

Yes. SMS broadcasts can be scheduled for a set date and time, and canceled before they go out. Emails are sent when you hit send.

Can I message guests who aren't on the guest list?

Yes. Type in an email address or phone number by hand, for a vendor or a relative who isn't on the list.

Does PlanMe send WhatsApp messages?

No. PlanMe sends email and SMS only.

Do I have to send one message per guest?

No. Turn on head guests only and each household gets a single message, sent to its head guest.

What should an RSVP reminder say?

Keep it short and specific: the event, the deadline and how to reply. Our RSVP reminder wording article has ready-to-use texts and emails for Desi weddings.
